Expectations

At your first treatment a full medical history and lifestyle consultation will be completed which will enable a tailored treatment plan to be developed for your specific need or particular condition.

If you are receiving foot reflexology you will then be asked to remove your shoes and socks and asked to sit back and relax on our massage bed with an adjustable backrest. If you are pregnant or prefer to sit on a chair this can be arranged on one of our Lafuma recliners.

The treatment starts with a relaxation sequence of the feet, following this various points are then stimulated by applying pressure to the feet in order to identify areas of tenderness, tension or areas that have been discussed in your consultation. It’s not ticklish or painful.

If there are any tender areas, which reflect imbalance or congestion in the corresponding part of the body these will be worked away in a soothing manner and they will also be disguised at the end of your treatment.

Treatments usually last approximately 45 – 60 minutes, however please allow slightly longer for the first treatment due to the initial consultation.

Each session is professionally documented and kept in a client/practitioner file, this will help monitor and measure your progress.  The information that you provide will be remain confidential.

Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or claim to cure therefore any health concerns should be discussed with your GP.

It’s also worth noting that many private health schemes provide assistance paying for reflexology treatments if  like myself, the reflexologist is registered with the AoR. Please contact your health insurance company first.
